We met at Bemidji State University in Northern Minnesota back in 2011 and not long after\, we started fishing together in Alaska- Luke teaching me the trade\, just how his dad did when he was a young boy. We not only commercial fish the largest salmon fishery\, but we also subsistence fish\, as a means to put the freshest sockeye salmon on our family’s table. We can’t wait to pass down our love of the fishery to our children and future generations\, as was done to us.

By learning about the connection between what they eat and their ability to do what they enjoy\, children will go home with a newfound power to make better choices for their health. \n  \nYou are welcome to accompany your child during the two-hour program\, or you can leave them with our team and use the time for your own productivity. If you choose to leave\, we encourage you to join us for our “Healthy Kids Picnic” during the final 30 minutes of the program. DESCRIPTION:HEALTHY KIDS IN THE TARGET PLAZA KITCHEN \nHands-on Cooking with Vibrant Fruits and Vegetables \nMonday\, April 3 | 2:30pm-4:30pm | Café Dining Room East (Area Behind Sapor) \n  \nBon Appétit invites Target employee elementary school-aged children in grades K-5 to join us for a special culinary workshop featuring activities in healthy eating and cooking. During this fun and interactive program\, the Target culinary team will demonstrate how whole fruits and vegetables can be transformed into a healthy meal. By learning about the connection between what they eat and their ability to do what they enjoy\, children will go home with a newfound power to make better choices for their health. \n  \nYou are welcome to accompany your child during the two-hour program\, or you can leave them with our team and use the time for your own productivity. If you choose to leave\, we encourage you to join us for our “Healthy Kids Picnic” during the final 30 minutes of the program. DESCRIPTION:Join us @ Target Plaza on \nWednesday\, December 14th  \nfrom 11:00 am to 1:00 pm \nTony Kornder will be here to share his family farming stories\, talk about his passion for raising beef cattle\, corn\, rye\, and pumpkins. \nThere will be plenty of Beef available for sale \nKNOW YOUR FARMER\nThe Kornder family can trace its farming roots back seven generations to Schillingsfurst\, Germany. After immigrating to America in 1859\, George Kornder settled on 33 acres in Bloomington\, Minnesota near where the Mall of America stands today. The family raised a variety of fruits\, vegetables and flowers to sell at St. Paul and Minneapolis farmers markets. The construction of Met Stadium\, along with the Twins and Vikings\, and other development\, forced the Kornders to move to their present day location in Belle Plaine\, Minnesota. \nToday\, the farm operation consists of 350 acres of corn\, rye\, pumpkins and beef cattle. Pumpkins are sold to area orchards and garden centers. We also have a U-Pick patch on the farm! Beef cattle are raised and direct marketed to wholesale and retail customers in the Twin Cities metro area.
